and since i wasted the whole post above me talking about me how bout i answer your question. I agree with people mis pernouncing it and if your like me who can’t stand people misspelling it that would get old. I would switch up the spelling so people recoginze it and refer to you correctly

I am going with Sarai as my psy. name b/c my daddy called me his little Sarai (e) so in honor of him if I ever get published it will be Sarai Brown. Which FYI is not my real name Sara Brown is See only one letter! Wow I hope I don’t have any stalkers out there…

I like your name. I would go with it. You could tweak the spelling of your first name, but def keep it. It is a good balance of unique and recognizable.

Huh. Well, honestly? I keep a list of books I’m going to buy and I write down both first and last names. But I’m anal retentive that way. Your name spelling is unique. But I will admit, that like CJ, I pronounced it “SIERRA” until I read your blog and got the correction. Sooo, I dunno. I like your name, but I do get your consternation.

I’d always heard the porn name was your middle name and the street you grew up on – in which case I’d be Ann West – but in your rules, I’d be Pamela West (I had a goldfish named Pamela – my creative talents were focused elsewhere when I was five.) The first sounds a bit like a 50s B-movie starlet; the second is just…nondescript (no offense to any real Pamela Wests out there.)

I think Ciara Stewart is a fine name, just depends on how much you can tolerate being called Sierra. If I ever published I’ve long accepted that I’d publish under a pen name since my surname is German, unpronouceable, and unspellable. Ciara Stewart has a really nice sound. But Keira Stewart would probably be more recognizable, thanks to Ms Knightley.

I like your real name, too. It has a very nice appeal to it and don’t think you need to change it up to make it stand out more or anything. But I also bet 99% of people will pronounce it Sierra like the mountain range. I did until I read the correct pronunciation in your ‘About Me’ section here on your blog.
