My Favorite Procrastinations
I may not have blogged for two weeks, but I have been writing and reading. Reading TONS. Writing some. I sent in my first two chapters to the Pacific Northwest Writers Association Literary Contest. I’m freakin tired of rewriting my first two chapters. I haven’t written any new scenes since November!!

My mind’s excuses for not writing:
- Travel (to spend time with my hubby)
- Reading (It’s research – right?)
- Email (networking)
- Reading Smart B*tches (research on what’s going on in romancelandia)
- Blogging (marketing and networking)
- Facebook (networking)
- Scrabbulous (improving my vocabulary)
- Eating (can’t write on an empty stomach)
- Sleeping (can’t write when i’m tired)
- Exercise (clears my head so i’ll write better)
- Laundry (it piles up)
- Cleaning (the house won’t clean itself)
- Editing (I must get those first chapters *just right* before I move on)

I don’t think some of these should be labeled “procrastinations” since – as you have pointed out – so many of them clearly benefit your writing. ;) PS: Are you still planning to backpack?
